Created an app-based portal for volunteer management

Problem :
Client had a requirement for a simple to use portal where their volunteers could login, apply for events and keep up to date with all the charity's news. The portal was driven by a backend database which held all volunteer records such as skills, qualifications, volunteer days and personal details in a GDPR-secure environment
Solution :
A no-code App was built using a combination of Airtable and NoLoco. It featured secure login with varying levels of user to ensure information was only available to those who needed it. Volunteers were able to apply for volunteering events such as beach cleans and shore clean ups.
Challenge :
The project was fun and quick to create, the main challenge being to make sure that it was easily updated by the charity without the need for any IT skills.
Summary :
A simple, but effective solution was enacted which allowed all users to get the information they needed. The app has continued to develop and the latest iteration will be launched Q1 2026.
